Outcrop of Central Cone Lava

An outcrop of Central Cone Lava is the newest lava, which is spouted by volcanic activities at Central Crater 500 years ago.
The outcrop of Central Cone Lava makes it possible to understand formation process of lava and flowing mechanisms, since you can observe the inside section of lava from top to bottom.

There is lava which is composed of flat, thick, and solid rocks covered by fragmentary and rugged rocks.
Solid rocks were in the heart of torrents of lava, and kept rocks a molten state for long time.
The rugged rocks turned into solid when it cooled on lava flow, and lava flow tore the rocks, and made them fragmentary called clinker.

The rugged rocks are called "aa lava".
